Look at the broader picture
I agree with Bill that Porter is in financial trouble. My fear is that as long as Porter is the Port Authority's chief reason for existence, and as long as the bus/gov glitterati enjoy their special little boutique airport, it doesn't really matter. Some excuse or dodge will be found to fund or support it. Logic and economics have very little to do with it, concern for the community even less.
Now if some emotionally compelling event should happen to turn the airport supporters against it - like a serious accident, or a convincing scandal at the Authority, or a photo of a sleeping air traffic controller, something positive might come of it.
In the here and now, concentrating just on the shortcomings of Porter seems to miss the point. We need to look at a broader picture.
