"I barely notice it" vs. "doom and gloom"

Mr. Plaxton,

For the record, I am opposed to the idea of a pedestrian tunnel. If they are going to bother and spend money on a tunnel, it should accommodate something as large as a fire truck. That would make sense for many reasons.

Your OPINION about the "Incompatible blight" on the waterfront is not shared by many who live near OR work at the increasingly significant transportation infrastructure formerly known as THE TORONTO ISLAND AIRPORT.

Despite the continuing improvement in Porter's financial situation, condominiums CONTINUE to be constructed, sold and increase in value all along the flightpath.

Notwithstanding the obtrusive nature of engine maintenance runs which I believe should be restricted to select start times and durations, the doom and gloom predicted as a result of day to day airport activities is reserved for those who are opposed to the airport in the first place - regardless of where they live. I've spent a lot of time on the waterfront and have unscientifically sampled many airport opinions from passers by. For the most part, the response goes something like - "I barely notice it" OR "I think it is great."

Take Care!
Joe
