Taxis wear out their welcome at Island Airport
Children often have to navigate around a wall of idling, honking taxis as they make their way to and from The Waterfront School on Queens Quay West.
The students can be seen darting around cabs that are standing in the crosswalk or performing U-turns as the drivers attempt to pick up or drop off passengers at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
“It’s like the wild west down here,” says Tony Makepeace of the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Association. “That kind of behaviour would never be accepted out at Pearson [International Airport].”
