"Fold your tents or change direction"

Rob Ford now has four years to convince council to amend the tri-partate agreement to fully allow Billy Bishop Toronto City Centre Airport to function as an economically viable regional airport, medical reliever, and aviation education center. Since he can now argue that with Buttonville officially slated for closure, we have no alternative but a Pickering Airport built at a cost of at least half a billion dollars, I suspect he'll get the nod to do that.

Given the news this week, culminating seven years of reversals for the anti-airport movement, I suspect the time may have come for you to fold your tents or else to change direction. Given the recent election and the subsequent announcement of the closing of Buttonville, closing the airport no longer makes sense as a goal. Trying to carry on efforts to do so only distracts from possibly attainable goals, such as limiting whatever negative impacts the airport has.
