"Horrendous"? You bet!
I can attest to the fact that it is truly horrendous. The noise and the odour are now off the charts. I hear the airport most nights starting around 2 AM and going near non-stop to nearly 5 and then resuming with the daily take offs shortly thereafter. The afternoons are also very busy (or at least that is when I am again forced inside from the noise).
The smell is increasingly awful, some mornings it feels as though you are trapped on the street behind a diesel truck. Recently a house guest commented on my repeated clearing of my throat and remarked that since her arrival she too had a tickle in her throat. She made the connection to the fuel in the air immediately.
As someone who has always been proud of our fair city I was mortified. Funny that my shame at this idiocy out weighs my concern for my own health. I guess that's what community minded people do, they put the welfare of all above the discomfort of a few. Too bad our governments aren't more community minded. God knows Polluter Air never will be.
