Polling and PR: A response to Pollara

Brian Iler responds to Robert Hutton and Craig Worden of Pollara:

You must be disappointed not to have received the TPA polling work again this year.

Our poster’s central point was ignored by you – the poll this year, like yours last, is clearly designed to get the results your former client wanted.

Below is a link to our press release from last year to that effect.

From the two people who reported the call that we now know was from Ipsos Reid, it is up to the same thing as you were.

We are correcting the statement linking your company to this year’s poll, but the central point our poster – and our press release last year - made is more than fair.

If this polling was anything more than a PR exercise for the TPA, it would have consulted with the communities affected by its airport in the design of the questionnaire. They did not.
