During the G20, flying a kite on Toronto Island or the waterfront will be banned.
Flying a plane to and from the Island airport? No problem.

G20 to Toronto: Don't go fly a kite

Transport Canada has released more details of the restricted airspace during the G8 and G20 summits in Huntsville and Toronto. In Huntsville, access within 15 nautical miles of the summit site will be limited to approved military and police operations, emergency/life-saving flights (including MEDEVAC/organ flights), search and rescue, approved essential service aircraft, state aircraft on official business, and aircraft carrying VIPs (designated by the RCMP). In Toronto, the same rules apply with exception given to all regularly scheduled commercial passenger and cargo flights and approved traffic watch flights. But the agency is not just drawing the line with planes. The following operations will be prohibited:

• parachuting

• parasailing

• paragliding

• hang gliding

• gliding

• rocket launches

• kites

• radio controlled aircraft

• unmanned air vehicles (UAV)

• hot air balloons

• dirigible aircraft

• agricultural/crop-dusting flights

• sight-seeing

• aerial advertising/banner towing

• aerobatic flights

• flight training

• general aviation

• media flights
