Airports on waterfronts

Joe, the residents of East Boston, where Logan airport is located, have been in a dispute with the airport authority for decades over noise, pollution, health problems, expansion issues, etc.

As for the Fung Report, the task force did not address the future of the airport in its report, purportedly because of time constraints and the complexity of the issues. Consequently, it did not recommend a "multi-use concept". Rather, the only recommendation made in the report was that a comprehensive study be done to determine a plan for the airport that "meshes with the vision for the waterfront." That vision was/is the revitalization of the waterfront. I am not aware that such a study has ever been done, despite expansion of the airport.
