This airport is insidious.

First they wanted to add a few more commercial flights, and I did not speak out because I knew there was an airport there and I could hardly complain about a few more flights.

Then they wanted to double the flights because the economy would flounder if Bay Street couldn't get where it was going faster. And I said little because maybe that was true.

Then they said all world class cities have waterfront airports, so shut up.
Then they allowed curfew breaches.
Then they needed more ferries.
Then they said we need a tunnel
Then they said 212 flights "because we said so".
Then they said, knock down the historical site we need PARKING."
Then they said, we can defame you all we like -- nobody can stop us."

Soon they will say:
Extend the runways - we need to land more planes!
Let's kill all the birds in the sanctuary - they impede the flights
Bulldoze those yacht clubs boys! We need that land for the buses and the cars and bridges.
So what if the schools and parks are polluted? Go live somewhere else
So what if your kid has asthma? It isn't our kid.
So what if we pollute the nude beach? It offends our right-wing sensibilities anyways.
So what if we pollute the islands? Only hippies and immigrants go there.
So what if no one wants to come to the Toronto Waterfront?  We have an airport.
