Noise levels and flight paths
Hello Concerned about air Pollution,
I agree with some of your assessments but I am wondering what you mean by "...not allow them to spread it further by changing flight path patterns."?
I have not seen any proposals to change flight paths. I'm only seeking clarification and not debating the pollution issue with you.
On the noise side, my understanding is that flights that occur in the evenings, overnight and early morning are given a HIGHER noise value (in NEF calculations) since they are obviously more of a disturbance. In my opinion, I don't believe NEF calculations are based on averaging noise levels. Perhaps Mr. Iler has more information on how noise levels are calculated in the NEF chart.
Take Care!
Joe
