And from another Waterfront resident

From the Globe & Mail:

"A panel's recommendation to enforce strict noise limits at a bird sanctuary has the potential to shut down development of the $16.2-billion Mackenzie pipeline in Canada's Arctic, the project's backers said."

What a bizarre world we live in when there are strict noise limits for a bird sanctuary but not for tax-paying residents of Toronto's waterfront (and visitors of Toronto's waterfront.)

On a different note, one evening last week I was walking home from work south on York St. to my waterfront condo. The wind was blowing quite strongly from the south. The stench of jet fuel covered the entire central waterfront! Shocking, just shocking!

But I guess it is okay because the business and finance professionals who live in expensive houses in expensive neighbourhoods can shave off a few minutes off their travelling time. And even more important, the stink and noise don't reach Rosedale, Forest Hill, Lawrence Park, etc. And these folks never go to the waterfront... they have cottages in Muskoka that have docks that cost more than the average condo on the waterfront.

How do these people manage to sleep at night?

Am I just some crazy, low-paid and angry person that is envious of the wealthy? Not in the least! I do okay myself. Am I some NIMBY that is against all development? Certainly not. Furthermore, I happen to know a few people who are financially more successful than the founders of Porter. I've watched them earn over $3 billion for the company they work for. And they've earned it while acting with INTEGRITY. And these people feel EXACTLY the same as I do. They are shocked and appalled just as are the people at CAIR.
