RE: EDITOR'S COMMENT ON ARTICLE
"When will the major print media of this town free themselves from the advertising revenue of Porter and campaign for the quality of life of the City of Toronto?"
This is an excellent question. But with newpapers on economic life support these days, they might be reluctant to make that decision any time soon.
There is another question possible. When will the City of Toronto Councillors stop being unduly influenced by the Porter lobbyists and vote on principle for the quality of life in the City of Toronto.
I believe Councillors have the best interests of Toronto at heart, as reportedly shown during the recent Department of Health hearings.
Is it easier to get Toronto papers to give up life giving revenue, or to get well intentioned Councillors to support the City in regaining control over their port lands--a key element of their waterfront development ?
As that banking television ad guy says: It's worth a talk.
