Iler comments on the new noise barrier for engine run ups
What a colossal waste of scarce public dollars.
Run-ups are ear-splittingly loud, and should only be carried out in an area that is far from prime recreational and residential areas. That means Pearson.
There is NO place on our waterfront that that noise should be funnelled - not to the residents, and NOT to the thousands of recreational users who frequent our waterfront.
Surely the TPA ought to have consulted with the communities affected as to the best way to spend the millions it recently extorted from the City of Toronto - money the City couldn't afford to pay.
In fact there's been no consultation whatsoever. These decisions are made in secret by people who are accountable only to Stephen Harper.
That's no way to run a waterfront.
