City Council motion to ban corporate and union donations
Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2nd, Toronto City Council will be debating arrangements that have been made by the city to manage the 2010 municipal election. Unless there are major changes to the administration of the vote, you can expect that literally hundreds of thousands of eligible voters will be left off the list. In the last election even Mayor David Miller was left off the list.
One important item that will be debated is a motion to ban corporate and union donations in Toronto Municipal Elections. Toronto is the only municipality in Ontario that has the right to ban those types of donations.
CommunityAIR has voted to support this motion and urge all councillors to vote in favour of the motion.
