Concern about the TPA/City agreement
Dear Councillor McConnell:
I have been very concerned at reading that TPA and the City of Toronto have reached some sort of agreement that settles all the areas of dispute between them. The terms of this do not appear to be public knowledge, nor does public consultation seem to have been part of the process.
I know that you must share the concern and I would appreciate it if you could fight hard to prevent an agreement being ratified at least until there have been public meetings and full revealing of the conditions. Rumours are that the City will be paying a large sum to TPA (yet again) but still not receiving any of the taxes due to the City from the TPA for a number of years.
Is this whole thing a publicity stunt on the part of TPA or what is the truth about it? Thanks for all you do to work for our community and this, I can see, will be yet another battle.
