2. Raising Our Voice for Climate Justice in Copenhagen: Fundraiser on November 22nd

On Sunday, Nov. 22nd, Maryam Adrangi and Kimia Ghomeshi, members of the Canadian Youth Delegation (CYD) to Copenhagen will be holding a fundraiser to help them get to the UN Climate Change Negotiations this December. The night will be filled with live music, spoken word, photo auction, and a presentation by CYD members.  There will also be an open mic, where we welcome all organizations to speak about what they are planning with regards to climate change and to the negotiations in Copenhagen.

The CYD will also be raising funds to send youth delegates from Latin America to the conference. It is communities from the global south which are least represented on the climate policy front, yet it is also them that are hardest hit by the impacts of climate change.

Where: Tequila Bookworm (upstairs),  512 Queen Street West (At Portland)

When: Sunday, November 22nd  7pm-11pm

What to bring:

1.       Donation of $10-20 – thanks in advance!
2.       Any literature your organization has published on climate-related issues
3.       Friends who are passionate and/or what to learn about climate justice, the climate youth movement and the UN climate talks.

This is a great opportunity to connect with the Canadian Youth Delegation going to Copenhagen as well as the Home Team who will be mobilizing on the ground! We look forward to seeing you on this fun-filled evening.

**If you are unable to attend the fundraiser, please still consider donating and supporting our cause. Email Kimia at 2kimia@gmail.com or call 416 551 2199 for more information.

Thank you for your support!

Maryam and Kimia
