TPA responds to Toronto Star articles

There appear to be big things going on behind the scenes in the Toronto Port Authority as a result of the two articles that have appeared in the Toronto  Star.  The TPA has posted a response entitled "Advisory: Toronto Port Authority responds to inaccuracies in Toronto Star articles"  You can find it at this address.

It
all seems pretty minor to those of us following the issue in CommunityAIR, more like quibbling then substantive criticisms of the Star articles, but judge for yourself.

Another interesting sidebar is that the Star was to publish the third of the articles in Saturday's newspaper, and it did not appear either Saturday or Sunday.  Rumour has it that the lawyers from each side are hurling statements back and forth at each other.

What is key in this drama is what the Star retracts.  It is not unusual in stories such as this that inaccuracies are embedded in the story.  There has been one minor correction in the Star about Alan Paul's title but that is all.  What will be in the paper tomorrow will tell the story.

One thing is clear, however, that the TPA is very sensitive about its reputation, and so they should be.  These are serious allegations.  More taxpayer money going to the lawyers, I'm afraid.
