In the article the Star reporter, Linda Diebel, points out that two sets of minutes were created for some TPA meetings.  Some of the changes were "significant removal of sections showing an alleged lack of oversight." ... "Pages bubble with dueling law firms -- costing at least $200,000 in disclosed fees alone."

The "intrigue involves charges of political interference in the supposedly arms-length agency" by Joe Soares a special assistant to the minister.  Soares, a political staff assistant to the Minister of Transport, refused comment.

Part of the controversy at the board includes the ouster from the position of Board Chair of Michelle McCarthy and her replacement by Mark McQueen.

The Liberals have called on Prime Minister Stephen Harper for a full audit of the Toronto Port Authorities operations during Lisa Raitt's tenure as president.  The Minister of Transport John Baird has rejected these demands and has said there was "nothing new" in the Star's report.

The third and final article on the port authority will appear in tomorrow's Star.
