How about Pearson...
Joe:
Thanks for the clarification about the parking lots. But I was interested in your vision that you sketched out in your last message. Here it is:
"If I had my way and lot's of money, I would reclaim some land about 3 km south of the present airport and build an airport there with a 7000 foot long runway to accommodate regional jets."
Rather than going south, into the lake, and stirring up another group of people like naturalists, sailors, and the Ontario government who have placed a moratorium on any more filling of Lake Ontario -- how about going north.
About 15 kilometers to the north of the Island Airport there is a large empty space of land with 7000 foot runways already built that can accommodate jets. They call it Pearson International Airport. You know it well because you work there.
I think Pearson is the ideal place to handle all of the air traffic in the GTA. We don't need a second airport.
