"They paved paradise" is the right analogy
No Joe. Elizabeth was referring to the Island Airport, not the silos.
We know that you think the Island is the most perfect spot for an airport, but for the rest of us the line in Joni Mitchell's song fits the airport perfectly. This is how the line goes: "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."
Most, or at least many of us, think the Island is something like a paradise. Water, sandy beaches, sun, trees, sail boats--you could use other words to describe it, but "paradise" fits it pretty well. They paved paradise and put up an airport. In my mind a parking lot would be even preferable than a stinking, polluting airport.
So I think the analogy that Elizabeth made is about perfect.
