Please retire "I was there first" argument

Could we please, please retire the "you knew the airport was there when you moved there" argument? When I moved to the waterfront in the early eighties, the Island airport was a regional airport used by small aircraft - Nothing even remotely the size of the 70-passenger Q400. The level of activity has varied over the years, but the advent of Porter Air has brought an enormous increase in the amount of air traffic, with more still to come. Telling waterfront residents that "you knew what you were getting into" is simply wrong. No one could have anticipated the scourge this airport has become - for people who visit the waterfront as well as those of us who live here.
