Wow, to say that landing at an airport without an active Air Traffic controller is "unsafe" is the most ignorant thing regarding aviation I have heard in a LONG time.

I'm a pilot who flies a Dash-8 in the arctic and there are only a few airports that have a control towers amongst the HUNDREDS of airports I fly to every day without one. Am I being unsafe?

Oh yes, I also fly a floatplane and land on lakes and rivers -- some without names, oh my! -- which, to you, must be the most dangerous thing in the world to do.

Please educate yourself on how an airplane flies and navigates to an airport in instrument conditions before speaking about something you don't understand.

Also, having buildings around does NOTHING to make things more unsafe as those buildings simply make the minimum descent altitudes higher, keeping aircraft even further away.

If you don't like the noise, say so. Don't make up excuses out of ignorance.
