Toronto has to embrace modern technology

Greetings

While I appreciate your concerns about some of the issues regarding the Island airport, I must assume that when nearby residents purchased property near the airport they knew it was there.  It is like complaining about air traffic if you move close to Pearson airport.

If Toronto is ever to be considered more than just a quaint backwater in North America it has to embrace modern technology, and that includes efficient air travel close to the downtown core.  Our city councillors favour trams over subways (a 19th century solution) and now we are being asked to consider air travel a nuisance and noise polluter rather than a 21st century fact.

The airport has been there for years and any nearby residents should have realised that when they chose to live there.  The views of a minority of dissatified residents should not impact the entire GTA and the economy of a city that needs an efficient transportation system to meet the needs of a growing global community.
