I was in Vancouver last week. The new Skytrain line serving the airport was in its second day of service. $2.75 for airport door to
Waterfront Station in 22 minutes.

Take all the money spent over links and tunnels into a high speed service to Pearson and there would not be a "need" for a downtown airport.
