The TPA can do what they want

I have done much reading and studying of the Island Aiport / Porter situation. I have come to the following conclusion: The Port Authority, Island Airport and Porter can basically do whatever they want, regardless of the Tripartite Agreement, or anything else. It is quite obvious.

They say that there is a maximum number of movements allowed...hogwash! Between Porter, private planes, flight school, helicopters, etc they easily blow right through that. I would not be surprised one bit if in a few years from now, there was a plane taking off every minute. Though less likely, it would not surprise me if jets were allowed to use the aiport as well.

Now perhaps an airport on our waterfront is acceptable because it is an "urban" waterfront and you have to expect noise. I know alot of people (including some who live on the waterfront) that think this way. I also know many residents of the waterfront that use Porter and love it. And that is fair enough.

But make no mistake....there really are no rules that govern the airport's use. For those that don't like the airport...be prepared for significantly more noise and activity one day.
