More on flying stunts around residential communities

Joe

My expertise on the air traffic control has do with twenty years of observation of the cowboy behaviour of pilots flying over my house and very little being done about it.

Both the Red Bull helicopter and the fixed wing aircraft flew from the South to the North over the house on Algonquin - three times.
The plane was flying around the helicopter.  My estimation of their altitude is that they were flying just at 1000 feet + or-100 feet.

When the Air Traffic controllers allow Avantair's Piaggio P-180s to fly lower than 500 feet over the houses on their approach to land over and over that is bordering on criminal. There are trees that are 120 feet tall on Ward's Island.

If you want to see the logs of the complaints about the P-180 go to the TPA website and read through the complaints.
Why has it taken so long to get the message through to the owner of the Piaggio P- 180s, Avantair.  If the controllers were doing their jobs this should not have happened more than once or twice.

Stunt flying around populated areas should have been banned years ago. It is a left over from the War years and has no place in a world that is suffering from climate change.

The Toronto Airshow is a case in point. It took us five years of complaining to every authority possible to shift the approach so it did not go right over the houses on Ward's. It is a terrifying experience to have a B-1 bomber or a F 16- fly over at or below 500 feet at just subsonic speeds.
