Snowbirds safety record
Joe,
You won't reassure anyone by quoting the Snowbirds safety record. Here is a list of at least 15 Snowbird crashes:
-10 June 1972: Captain died after 2 aircraft collided at Trenton Air Show
-July 1977: aircraft collided at Paine Field, Washington.
-3 May 1978: Captain died in crash at an air show in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
-3 September 1989: Captain died after a midair collision at CNE in Toronto, Ontario
-1991: A Snowbird crashed during training flight, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
-1992: A crash near Moose Jaw
1994: crash near Moose Jaw
-10 Dec 1998: Captain died in collision near Moose Jaw.
-4 Sept 2000: 2 aircraft touched wings at the Canadian International Air Show in Toronto
-10 Apr 2001: in Comox, British Columbia the nose and right-wing landing gear of aircraft collapsed.
-21 June 2001: mid-air collision during a media shoot over Lake Erie near London, Ontario.
-10 Dec 2004: Captain died in a training accident near Mossbank, Saskatchewan
-24 Aug 2005: crash from engine failure near Thunder Bay, Ontario,
-18 May 2007: Snowbird 2, Capt. fatally crashed at Malmstrom Air Force Base near Great Falls, Montana
-9 Oct 2008: Capt. and military photographer killed in crash near Moose Jaw
Stunts are dangerous. They have no business making stunts near highly populated areas or over a port that has heavy water traffic.
