Imagine a runway up Fifth Avenue

The waterfront has condos and apartments from end to end of the harbourside and more being filled in as I write. Many think that these condos and apartments are the best and most convenient place to live in Toronto. Our waterfront is not quite as long as New York's Central Park. Can you imagine the residents' roar that would go up if a very convenient aircraft runway was proposed to run up the Fifth Avenue side or the Central Park West side of Central Park?? When will the Toronto waterfront condo owners and apartment dwellers wake up to the damage to their lives and their property values that the commercialization of the Island Airport is causing. Every step taken(including tis weeks announcement of $$ 45 million being spent on terminal improvements on the Island side of the gap) make getting rid of the commercial airport activity more difficult to bring about. When will the condo owners and apartment residents become incensed and take some action to protect their health and their investment?? Don't rely on others to carry forward your cause . This is your problem and only your actions will get Mayor Miller and other political voices to go up to bat for you against Ottawa politicians and civil servants who love the easy trip to Toronto that is ravaging your balcony living , your sleep , your music garden, your kids school , the pleasures of your neighbourhood and your investment.
