Michael Bryant is a "no show" at Deluce's Tory love in
So, by news reports, Ontario Liberal Michael Bryant – who was announced by Porter as an attendee for yesterday’s smugfest – was a no show.
Did he realize, perhaps, that this is a 100% Tory show, and felt a bit uncomfortable giving them credibility?
The TPA’s former XCEO Lisa Raitt is now a key Tory cabinet minister – sitting just behind Stephen Harper in question period
When the 3-3 deadlock on the TPA board was broken by the City in favour of a more nuanced approach to Porter’s expansion, Harper’s Tories forthwith expanded the Board by two – adding two Mike Harris era Tories - to break the deadlock in the opposite direction. What was so important to Harper that they felt compelled to do this?
Maybe this: at the first nine-member board meeting they agreed by a 5-4 vote to buy Porter another $5 million ferry.
Big money, massive government handouts, and impressive Tory connections has got Porter to where it is today.
Why would Michael Bryant, who has a generally good reputation as a member of the progressive Liberal caucus at Queen’s Park, wasn’t to be identified with these guys? Perhaps he realized that wouldn’t be such a good idea after all…
