47% name problems with the airport as chief concern

At a jam-packed  meeting last night, organized by Bathurst Quay Residents Association, a survey of main concerns of Bathurst Quay residents was released – topping the list at 47% was noise & air pollution from Island Airport. The next highest concern received only 13%.

The meeting was a Town Hall with Adam Vaughan, City Councillor for the Area. He outlined in detail the actions he is initiating to protect Bathurst  Quay from the ravages of an expanding island airport operation. Brian Iler, Chair of CommunityAIR, spoke too, laying out the numerous issues that organization is working on, and supporting the community’s efforts to ensure the media and the public understand how Porter’s expansion is affecting the liveability of the waterfront.
