Quite right John. To get to environmental fairness we need leadership and high-speed trains, just like Obama is doing in the States. It has to start somewhere - with voters, with public awareness and lobbying. But there is no way that a 'competitive economy' will create an equitable situation. Firstly, it's way too random. Secondly, the world has seen the abuse of the environment at the hands of corporations for decades and is finally waking up to the horror of global warming, species extinction, and limited resources. Corporations including airlines only look at the bottom line, they do not care about the environment, or 'environmental equity.'
