Ludicrous "share the burden" argument

RE: “I can add that we need to put an airport smack dab in the middle of High Park in Toronto because why should the residents of Malton, Rexdale and the Waterfront have to put up with all the noise.” (Let's build an airport in Oakville 12Apr09)

This ludricrous “share the burden” argument is akin to smokers insisting that people who care about their health enough not to smoke should “share” the air they breath anyway ... thus the farcical abutting smoking and non-smoking areas in restaurants and airplanes that went on for years. These senseless policies died a slow death eventually … the same fate due hopefully for the ignominious island airport!
