What about the TPA effors on noise and wildlife?
Hi Mr. Wilson,
Many of the legitimate concerns people have about the TCCA revolve around the fact that the TPA doesn't respond to complaints and concerns raised by local residents.
Now that the TPA is investigating methods of mitigating noise and also looking at better wildlife management methods etc. this only qualifies as token or to "mollify temporarily". Given that my assessment of the Miller mandate (or lack of one) was considered "sour grapes" - what should we call your assessment of the TPA's EFFORTS to improve airport operations for the benefit of all waterfront citizens?
It seems to me that, short of closing the airport - which doesn't appear to be on the agenda - there isn't anything that the TPA can do that will satisfy the Mr. Wilson's of the world. What is Plan B Mr. Wilson??? The airport is there and it is in an expansion phase and there currently ISN'T a plan to close it down. NOW WHAT?? You have a choice to engage in a dialogue with the TPA or you can stand at the shoreline and scream at each aircraft as it arrives or departs. Life is very rarely the all or nothing proposition that many airport opponents would like it to be.
Complaining about every TPA effort as being insufficient or token is hardly a constructive approach to the issue.
Add to this, the constant and blatant accusations of conspiracy theories without any proof, newspaper articles with hidden agendas and the negative, bitter and adversarial tone of the commentary and you have your very own version of SOUR GRAPES!
Take Care!
Joe
PS - Mr. Freeman, I'm OK with any commentary or rebuttal attached to my blog - you have been very kind to allow my opposing commentary on your site.
