Speculation on Porter's finances
I did not write or post the comment to which you responded.
I have no inside information on the status of Porter's finances, and I consider speculation unproductive. I prefer to focus on the questions of equity: on what, if any, grounds can we justify "concentrating" the environmental costs of aviation on the working class neighbourhoods in Rexdale and Malton, when the whole city shares the benefits. And, like Joe, I have serious doubts about the prudence of trying to have a city of two million people, home to a major medical complex, with, effectively, no reliever airports. Beyond that, I reject the notion that we have to reserve the waterfront for residential use, with a few spaces for the arts and "knowledge workers". Toronto Bay has always functioned as a transport hub, and I reject the notion of completely excluding transport uses from it.
I'll leave the predictions to people with crystal balls.
