I sold my condo in 99 Harbour SQ last year solely due to the expansion of Porter. Also, I've spoken with numerous residents who say that if Porter continues to expand, they will also move out. Furthermore, I have spoken with several residents of Toronto who do not live in harbourfront that have come down here and witnessed Porter's planes. And the majority of those folks think it's crazy.

All in all, I'd estimate that 80% of residents and non-residents that I have spoken to think that having a major commercial airline operating out of the Island Airport is crazy.

I believe that the real test will be the summer of 2010 when Porter will have 20 planes operating. It's going to be interesting indeed!

For the folks that are for the Island Airport....well, what can you say about someone who believes that bathing kids at the Harboufront school with jet fumes is acceptable? I guess though that many of the business executives who use and run Porter have kids that go to UCC and so it is not an issue in their mind.
