Is staying and fighting noble or based on emotion?

OK,

So people are moving out of waterfront condos. Are these condos staying empty?  Is anyone moving into these places or do we have an inordinate amount of empty units in most buildings?  Also, property values have dropped across the GTA so it might be difficult to blame the entire price effect on airport traffic.

I don't think I would enjoy a needle in the eye and much less lungs full of airplane exhaust. I think I am responsible for getting smokers to "take it outside" as I forced my mother to do so from a very young age. I hope that NONE of the residents who complain about airplane pollution are smokers

I live directly under the flightpath of the busiest of 5 runways at Pearson so I'm not making stuff up about living in the midst of an airport.

By the way, when I worked at the TCCA, I was interested in moving to the waterfront (from Mississauga) right beside Tip Top and across from the airport at the western gap (I think I called it the Eastern gap in a previous BLOG due to typing fatigue).
Based on her description, I think fellow Blogger Ane Christensen might be a resident in this area. Are there many empty units in this building - directly across for the airport?

It sounds like "Many" people are feeling the effects of the TCCA - I have NEVER doubted this but I have questioned the scope and severity of the "airport effect". I have also questioned whether airport opponents might be predisposed to complain about conditions they might otherwise tolerate from other sources. I can't prove this but it makes for interesting analysis.
I think we can all agree that this BLOG can't provide the scientific "hard" evidence that will answer all of the questions that have been posed.

I genuinely feel for all of those who's lives are negatively altered due to airport operations. Staying and fighting to close the TCCA, while noble, IS purely based on emotion, and isn't likely to yield the desired results. If the airport is still there 10 years from now, you will likely regret having lived somewhere that made you unhappy for all of this time. What is PLAN B if the airport outlasts it's opponents?

Take Care!
Joe
