Buses servicing the Island Airport
Frequently Pacific Western buses drive south on Bathurst, then back up for some unknown reason, and park at the north part of the SW corner of Bathurst and Queens Quay. Then they sit and idle for 30 minutes or more.
I fully realize the beeping is a legal requirement, I do not see the need for this odd backing up procedure at all. I also understand the city has by-laws against excessive idling. I witnessed one bus idling for over 90 minutes several weeks ago.
Recently I heard that TCCA is re-configuring their parking situation to (hopefully) eliminate this. Do you know anything about this or other information about changes at TCCA? Typically, TCCA does not respond.
This has been going on for well over a year and it seems to be getting worse (more frequent).
I also wrote BQNA who told me today, that there were plans to reconfigure that area, but nothing has happened.
It is an issue with them to be resolved as currently it's a combination of noise, air pollution and safety with children crossing to
the school at the south-east corner.
Thank you, J.H.
