"Their way or the runway"
In news article after news article, Robert Deluce has stated that the Q400 is a quiet plane. He doesn't have a problem with noise, the community does. He doesn't need to negotiate.
The Toronto Port Authority doesn't have a problem with noise, the community does. Transport Canada doesn't have a problem with noise. The community does.
The port authority's response, with Transport Canada's blessing, is to drag their feet over community input while they try to get around noise complaints. Just check out on the port authority website for noise reports to see how effective they've been at stopping or even admitting to overflights. Dealing with these people, as past experience has shown is a dead end. It's their way and the runway.
CommunityAIR's stated goal is to close the airport. The sooner that the airport is closed the sooner the noise, late flights andoverflights will stop. End of story.
