Roaring noises of sustained duration

Complainant: Peter Holt
Incident Date: 02-25-2009
Incident Time: 2045 to 2115
Description: There were two (2) roaring noises of sustained duration between approx. 8:45 and 9:15 pm this evening. The noise that came from the airport this evening was frightening.
A number of us went outside to see if there was a sign of an explosion or firestorm in the harbour and when we did, it was clear that it was from the airport.
A firestorm of protest against the airport is richly deserved. The violence of that noise is like a huge living thing. How CAN it be allowed?.
It is monstrous to think that such explosive noise is allowable in the centre of all the high rises and neighbourhoods and conservation and recreation areas for wildlife and so many thousands of people.
And then it happened AGAIN... though for a shorter duration and not quite as loud. This airport is wrecking homes, communities and the greatest leisure and pleasure resource of the citizens and tourists of Toronto, for a totally anti-environmental person (Deluce) and business (Porter aka "Porker" Air).
What a rotten and frightening thing that our system ignores the people and the Mayor of Toronto, to enrich a private profiteer and despoiler of the peace and health of the environment and anyone in it.
SHAME on all of us for letting this happen! I am furious!
