"I hate airports, just a bit less than Christmas"
(Editor's note: The following blog entry is from a frustrated Island Airport user. This is the link: http://xoph3.wordpress.com/2008/12/23/i-hate-airports/ )
Am bored here at the Toronto island airport, waiting for the last 4 hours for my flight to leave, and it looks like I have 3 more to wait. Shame too, I used to love this airport, but it loses quite a bit of luster after any more than an hour. People are sick, coughing and sputtering, and getting cranky. Not a good scene at all. At least the iPhone is fulfilling it’s purpose, but the battery is dying fast.
Strange part is, none of this is really bothering me that much, just bored out of my mind. I think I actually dread Christmas enough that I’d be happy to sit here until it passed by. Maybe there is a wall socket I can find…
Update time! So our replacement plane can’t land here because of the weather. So, they are bussing us to Pearson. *cheer* Maybe I can at least get a drink there. =p
Update number 2! It’s about 12:30 now, and I’ve progressed from waiting on a plane, to waiting in an airport, to now waiting on a hot sweaty bus filled with coughing sick people. Awesome! And I still am hoping this storm will grow to such size that any and all travel will be impossible….
Update number 3! Well my battery died as I had feared, so I wasn’t able to continue this compelling tale in real time
. After hanging out on that horrible bus for more than 2 hours, we finally managed to board a plane that left Pearson at 3AM. All of that for a 45 minute flight, that got me to my parents place @ 430AM. *yawn*. To finish this loveliness, I still need to head out to the stores to pick up one last thing in the middle of a snowstorm here. Gotta love christmas. Will just have to survive to the 29th, when my actual holiday can begin.
