More Curfew Violations
Porter Airlines is continuing to violate the 11:00 pm curfew at the Island Airport. The two most recent violations that we know about are:
November 24, 2008. A Porter Airlines plane, POE 418, landed at 11:15 pm or later.
November 30, 2008. A Porter Airlines plane, POE 130, landed at 11:35 pm
The Toronto Port Authority, and the airport manager Ken Lundy, have assured members of CommunityAIR and other community groups that they take curfew violations seriously but the violations continue.
Lundy admitted that on one occasion the pilot of a Porter aircraft ignored the directions of the air traffic controller to divert to Pearson, and landed at the Island Airport. This is a very serious violation of the curfew rules and of the protocol that operates at all airports.
What is being done to stop these violations?
