I think you must be confusing numbers. The $240 fare in 2006 was after taxes. When Porter started to Montreal in December 2006, the lowest fare was $99 before taxes. Ottawa was either $89 or $99. $240 is what the round trip tickets came to after taxes back then. Since then, all airlines have added fuel surcharges. Just like the current advertised fare of $98 comes to something a lot more. Not against your blog, but I remember those 2006 adds well. The lowest fare before taxes was not anywhere near $240.
