"What happened to the clean, green waterfront promised by every politician in this city?" Simple - the federal government cares a lot about harvesting tax dollars from Toronto and doesn't care at all about the quality of life in this city. Toronto MP's (unlike those from, say, Quebec) represent the federal government to us, not our interests to Ottawa. So it's no surprise that an out of control federally sponsored agency is wrecking a large part of the waterfront. Toronto politicians can talk all they want, but as long as Ontario remains part of Canada we won't have any local control over the TPA.
