Noise Distrubs the Community
It's just after 9 pm on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008 and a beautiful night in Toronto.
We live at King's Landing immediately across from the Island Airport and for the past 15 minutes have endured an aimlessly idling, polluting Porter plane sitting on the runway, presumably waiting to take off. The air pollution alone (not to mention the earsplitting noise) should be enough to cause the responsible levels of government to close this boondoggle of an airport down.
The TPA has a lot to answer for in regard to Porter and we can only hope that the truth about who is really benefiting from an a private airline on the Toronto Islands comes out.
If only John Barber from the G&M could tell the real story.
