I would suppose Ronald Wilson means, when he says “we” (as in “we all have an interest in the success of this airport“), that he is part of some undefined silent majority of citizens quite separate from the “the self-interested minority“ he disdainfully and arrogantly dismisses as island airport “opposers“. If the truth be known, it is actually a small determined coterie of business/political interests who aggressively push the island airport that indeed form a “self-interested minority“ that are far outnumbered by the vast majority of stakeholders amongst our citizenry at large with a right to a clean, green waterfront, open and accessible to everyone.
