TORONTO STAR ECO-CHALLENGE: REDUCE YOUR FLYING

For the countdown to the global Earth Hour on March 29, the Toronto Star has been running a series of challenges to reduce our environmental footprint. This week's eco-challenge is to cut down on the amount of flying we do, since air travel is a major cause of greenhouse gas emissions. As the Star points out, airports at this time of year are jammed with March Break travellers, and calls on readers to "find your fun close to home instead of thousands of kilometres away" Community AIR joins the Star''s call for a reduction in air travel, especially short-haul flights, which are among the worst greenhouse gas offenders. Instead of flying from Toronto to Montreal or Ottawa, our challenge is: Better Take the Train, which is also the rallying cry of our fundraiser coming up on April 24 at the Tranzac Club in Toronto.   For details scroll down below to "Better Take the Train"
